Great little radio, 120,000 contacts, 3000 channels, Dual Band VHF/UHF with Analogue and DMR. GPS option (highly recommended)
Very loud speaker, not suitable for quiet areas, or covert communications.
Top channel mounted rotary selector next to on/off and volume knob.
2 side buttons plus PTT switch.
Bright display, although not adjustable, has time and date on the bottom.
Audio quality, very good, crystal clear on DMR and good output on analogue.
Caution – Battery terminals are NOT protected, so do not put this radio in a pocket with keys, coins or anything conductive.
This radio is also sadly not waterproof, unlike the RT82 (identical to TYT MD2017 / Moonraker HT500d)
It does take a standard set of connectors for a headset, earpiece or speaker mic.
Battery is a 2000mAh (14.8Wh) 7.4v Li-ion
It is quite a bit smaller than the RT82, so may suit smaller hands or pockets.
